Iran Reports Assault on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Regional Counterattacks.

Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing attack against it by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity close to the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any destruction is not yet known and the United States has yet to issue a statement.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the government.

Wider Impacts

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," it added.

Officials reported debris fell on a neighborhood in the capital, causing some property damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
