The Blue Jays Earn Fall Classic Meeting Against defending champion Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

George Springer previously helped the Astros winning the World Series in 2017.

Toronto's Blue Jays earned a spot in their initial championship series since 1993 by defeating the Mariners in the seventh Game 7 of the AL Championship Series.

Down by two runs, Springer delivered a three-run homer in the seventh inning, propelling the Toronto squad in the majors to a 4-3 series win in the best-of-seven series. Awaiting them are the defending champions, the team that is the reigning title, in the forthcoming championship.

"I'm just so happy for everyone here, the city, Canada," Springer stated, a key player of the Houston Astros team that secured the 2017 World Series. "What an amazing experience."

George Springer has now connected for twenty-three post-season home runs, ranking him third in history after Manny Ramirez (29) and Jose Altuve (twenty-seven).

"It's hard to imagine anyone else anywhere that I want up in that moment except for George Springer with his October magic," remarked manager John Schneider.

Seattle's team, who had led the series 2-0 and 3-2, are still the one club never to appear in a Fall Classic.

Mariners manager Dan Wilson said "without a doubt that it's going to sting" following his side's defeat at their home ballpark, but praised their performance in the campaign.

"This is a unique group. Unfortunately that we ended up on the wrong side of this one," he remarked.

The Blue Jays claimed the championship on each of their earlier trips in 1992 and 1993, and are set to host the Dodgers in game one on the upcoming Friday.
