The Streaming Platform is Developing a Popular Game TV Series from the Producers of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.
The newest action-packed title that audiences explored was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the antagonist, Antón, and came out during October 6, 2021. As a series, it has a reputation for celebrating violence and insanity with similar glee, all while presenting engaging, politically driven stories. No wonder then that the network’s recent announcement for a Far Cry anthology series brought on board two creators whose projects have represented all of those things.
Show Details
Inspired by Ubisoft's successful video game series, the limited anthology series will be available on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The series will also mirror the video games' structure by having a fresh setting and cast of characters in subsequent series.
Creative Minds
Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as executive producers on the series through their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
We’ve shared magnificent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is fresh, engrossing, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our collaborators at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this beloved property.”
Cast and Future Plans
Mac will also appear in the show, but currently, we are unsure of what part that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago greenlit for a second instalment, with FX and Disney finalizing a new overall deal with the producer.
“Having the opportunity alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally supportive, placing faith in us with one of the most iconic video-game worlds ever created. And along the way, my FX team always encourages me with their ongoing belief and backing.”
“What I love about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology program. Every instalment is a variation of a concept, the same way each season of Fargo is a adaptation on a story,” said Hawley. “To produce a big action show that can change from season to season, while always delving into the nature of people through this complex and chaotic viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m excited to work with Rob and introduce our mutual irreverent, ambitious sensibility to the screen.”
A schedule for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
