Tributes Pour In for the Reiners as Medical Examiner's Findings Face a Security Hold.

Over a fortnight after the tragic deaths of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community are still paying respects to the duo.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, explained he only now felt ready to post publicly about his profound loss.

"Adequate time has passed that I can at last put my grief into words," posted Elwes, adding that his first meeting with Reiner made him fall in love. "When we commenced passing more hours together I realized this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor uploaded behind-the-scenes footage from the movie, commenting that he doesn't recollect "any day without mirth".

"This story is about affection, allegiance and giving. Things that Rob cherished deeply. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to guide it," Elwes expressed.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, stating: "Claiming that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still aches every time I remember you." He ended with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Colleague and Comrade

In a separate piece, legendary director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved being with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the lead role.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked beautifully with everyone, and he grasped the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese noted.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Restricted

This week, a Los Angeles superior court judge ruled to bar the publication of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, at the request from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A legal directive placed a security hold on the cases to prohibit the public release of "related notes, documents, files or images" connected to the ongoing investigation.

The Medical Examiner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of foul play, with a record citing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Response and Criticism

Following the killings, public individuals shared divergent responses.

Former President Donald Trump commented on the matter, making controversial remarks that were broadly criticized by several public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his criticism to the critics recently. Talking on his show, Rogan described the remarks as "disturbing" and remarked they revealed a troubling lack of empathy.

Rogan finished by suggesting that an adviser ought to have acted when the choice to weigh in on the death was made.
