Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople confirmed on late Wednesday. The athlete was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two close friends.”
